Ukhrul Forest Division To Observe Wildlife Week 2025

The Ukhrul Forest Division is all set to observe Wildlife Week 2025 in a very exceptional way, unlike the previous years.

DFO Ukhrul Forest Division, Laishram Gitla informed that “the Wildlife Week 2025 is tentatively scheduled from 2 -8 October 2025 under the theme “Human-Animal Coexistence” and will be observed in different venues at Ukhrul District.”

Competition items like Essay Writing Competition on the theme “Living With Wildlife” (in two categories Class V-VIII and Class IX-XII), Painting Competition on the theme “Living With Wildlife” (in two categories Class V-VIII and Class IX-XII) and an open Wildlife Quiz Competition will be taken up for the school going children.

A series of activities will be taken up during the observation week:

– Guided bird watching trail walks and nature safaris in forest, parks and eco sites

-Poster and banner display and loud speaker campaigns in and around the market area under Ukhrul Forest Division and

-District Level Awareness programme and interactive session with villagers, local clubs and frontline staff.

Applications are also invited for the State Level Wildlife Photography Competition on the theme “Wild Mammals of Manipur in their Natural Habitat“.

Nominations are also invited for the State Level Wildlife Protection Incentive Awards from individuals, Civil Societies/NGOs, Clubs, Gram Panchayats, JFMCs, Government officials, Security personnel from Police and paramilitary forces, Media etc. under Ukhrul Forest Division jurisdiction, for their outstanding contributions in protection, conservation, wildlife crime control, and prevention.

Intending candidates may download the prescribed Forms, Rules & Regulations from the Department’s official website forest.manipurforest.gov.in or collect from the nearest Forest Office.

Entries for the Photography Competition and nomination for State Level Wildlife Protection Incentive Awards must be submitted to the office of the Divisional Forest Officer, Ukhrul Forest Division on or before 15th September 2025.
