The much-anticipated Travelling Book Fair organised by Book Culture | Northeast, in collaboration with Ishi, commenced today at Sentinel College, Phungreitang, Ukhrul, Manipur. The fair will remain open to the public from December 18 to December 23, 2025, between 10:00 am and 6:00 pm, with free entry for all visitors.

The book fair features a wide range of titles across genres including fiction, non-fiction, children’s literature, academic books, self-development, and popular reads, catering to readers of all age groups. One of the key attractions of the fair is the special offer of books priced at ₹399 per kilo, along with an exciting “Buy 2 Get 1 Free” offer, making books affordable and accessible to everyone.

The travelling book fair aims to promote reading culture and improve access to books in hill and remote regions of the Northeast, especially among students and young readers. The initiative seeks to bring books closer to communities that have limited exposure to large-scale book events.

Students, educators, parents, and book enthusiasts from Ukhrul and nearby areas turned up in large numbers on the opening day, reflecting strong public interest. The organisers expressed optimism that the fair would encourage reading habits and create a vibrant literary atmosphere in the region.

The Travelling Book Fair is expected to draw more visitors over the next few days.
