The Tangkhul Naga Headman’s Association earnestly appeal to all citizens of Manipur to honor the spirit of Christmas by ensuring an atmosphere of calm, harmony, and mutual respect.

Christmas Day holds profound spiritual significance for Christians around the world. It is a sacred moment that commemorates the birth of Jesus Christ, whose message of love, forgiveness, sacrifice, and peace continues to illuminate the path of humanity.

President of Tangkhul Naga Awunga Long (TNAL), Kashung Tennyson in a press release stated that, “on this holy and meaningful occasion, we humbly and earnestly appeal to all citizens of Manipur to honor the spirit of Christmas by ensuring an atmosphere of calm, harmony, and mutual respect. We sincerely request that no bandh, shutdown, or disruptive activity be called on this day, so that the Christian community may observe and celebrate Christmas with prayer, joy, and reverence.

“Jesus Christ was born not only for Christians but for all humanity to bring hope to the broken, comfort to the suffering, and salvation to sinners. His life and teachings remind us that love conquers hatred, peace overcomes conflict, and compassion heals divisions.

“Christmas is a time that calls us to look beyond differences and embrace one another as brothers and sisters. By safeguarding the sanctity of this day, we reaffirm our shared commitment to coexistence, understanding, and unity among all communities.

“May the message of Christmas soften hearts, inspire reconciliation, and renew faith in humanity. May this blessed season bring joy to every home, strength to every soul, and peace and prosperity to all.”
