The Teachers’ And Medical Officers’ Association (TAMOA), Regional Institute of Medical Sciences, Imphal has resolved to shut down of RIMS (OPD, emergency, routine OT and PME) with immediate effect till the culprits are booked, punished and safe working environment is ensured.
At the outset the TAMOA sympathises with the unfortunate incidents which have happened in RIMS. The TAMOA condemns in the strongest terms the false allegations and violent assault on a senior and the most sincere duty abiding consultant of RIMS.
In the light of this, the TAMOA has taken the following resolutions –
1. Shut down of all services of RIMS (OPD, emergency, routine OT and PME) with immediate effect till the culprits are booked, punished and safe working environment is ensured. However, patients already admitted in RIMS will continue to be given due care and attention.
2. To lodge an FIR against the involved culprits by RIMS authority and to take up legal actions.
3. Assurance of safety for the healthcare providers in the RIMS complex.
4. Issuance of formal statement of condemnation by RIMS authority.
5. Formal clarification by the RIMS authority about the false allegations being circulated in the social media.
6. Inquiry into the security lapses of RIMS.
Normal duty will be resumed only when the working environment become safe and conducive.
