The Education Festival 2025 (State-Level Inter-School Championship) which kicked off on 29 October 2025 at Jubilee Hall, UBC Ukhrul, bringing together students and educators from across Manipur for three days of spirited competition, creativity, and cultural exchange concluded in a very exciting spirit on Friday.

Delivering the Chairman’s address, Asish Das (IAS), Deputy Commissioner of Ukhrul, set the tone for the festival with an inspiring message. He highlighted his initiative, “Unlocking Ukhrul Model,” aimed at fostering holistic development and educational innovation in the district.

This year’s festival saw the participation of 21 schools representing various districts of Manipur, making it a truly inclusive and vibrant celebration of education and youth talent.

The event featured 14 diverse competitions designed to test intellect, creativity, and teamwork. These included Spelling Bee, My Dream – Robotic Engineering, Quiz, Extempore Speech, Creative Writing (Junior and Senior), Painting (Junior, Middle, and Senior), A Cappella, Cultural Show, Choreography, and the Mini Marathon for both boys and girls.

The second day was graced by Luckyson Ngamsha Kashung (IAS) Director, Tribal Affairs & Hills, and Duna Duo (MCS) ADM/SDO-Jessami, Ukhrul, who encouraged the students to pursue excellence and creativity through such platforms.

In his address, Luckyson N. Kashung emphasized the importance of blending education, knowledge, and wisdom, reminding students that knowledge without wisdom poses a threat to the community. He urged them to remain humble, disciplined, and committed, adding that to educate a child is to educate a society.

Duna Duo drew an inspiring parallel between life and a marathon, reminding students that success is not about speed but about steady, consistent effort. “Every great dream, like every great marathon, begins with a single brave step forward,” he said. Urging the students to focus on what truly matters, he added, “At this age, your only duty is to study — to be a student. Do that sincerely, and life will take care of itself when the time comes.”

The grand finale held on 31 October marked a memorable conclusion with Worshang Hungyo (IAS) Secretary (Tourism), Government of Manipur, attending as the Chief Guest. Adding to the excitement, Hon’ble MP (Outer Manipur) Alfred Kanngam Arthur made a surprise appearance, further elevating the spirit of the event.

In his speech, Worshang Hungyo addressed the dwindling quality of education in the district, urging students and educators alike to make meaningful use of such events to drive improvement. He applauded the Organising Committee for hosting one of the biggest educational events so far, setting a higher benchmark for the future. He also emphasized that Education and Health are two key sectors that must be strengthened collectively through the efforts of the DC, MP, and other district officers.

In the results, Savio High School emerged as the Team Champion for the second consecutive year, clinching top honors in the Spelling Bee and My Dream – Robotic Engineering competitions, along with several other notable wins across multiple categories.

A special highlight of the closing ceremony was the launch of ‘Sam-ut Kharon’ (stingless bee honey) — a sustainable product developed under the NEFEC initiative at Ringui Village, unveiled by the Chief Guest. The initiative aims to promote local entrepreneurship and eco-friendly livelihood opportunities within the community.

The Education Festival 2025 concluded with renewed enthusiasm and commitment to nurturing young minds, celebrating creativity, and building a thriving educational culture in Manipur.
