Senapati Observes Kargil Vijay Diwas

The District Administration of Senapati in collaboration with Mera Yuva Bharat, Senapati and District Youth Affairs and Sports, Senapati observed the nationwide programme on Kargil Diwas today at DC Conference Hall, Senapati.

The observation marked the glorious victory of 1999 by Indian soldiers who have displayed exemplary courage by braving snow- clad peaks and reclaiming the heights of Kargil with unmatched courage and unwavering bravado.

As part of the programme, the Deputy Commissioner of Senapati, Mamoni Doley, IAS led the lighting of candles and paid floral tributes to the portrait of war heroes of Kargil War- 1999. She also administered the Constitutional pledge among the gathering. A pledge, honouring the legacy who have given their lives for the motherland.

During the programme, W. Paulina Monsang, Deputy Director, Mera Yuva Bharat, Senapati welcomed the gathering and emphasized the importance of observing Kargil Vijay Diwas. She also appealed to the member present to contribute and safeguard the nation’s sovereignty as those brave soldiers who laid down their lives with the spirit of courage, sacrifices and patriotism.

AS. Nganingkhui, Youth Officer, DYASO, Senapati also in his speech briefed on the account of Kargil Vijay Diwas and highlighted the life of District Hero of Kargil war- Late. K. Ashuli, Vir Chakra (Posthumous) who have been martyrs during the war.

The programmes conclude with words of gratitude by P S John Longkhaye, DYASO, Senapati. The programme was attended by Sheveine, MCS, AC to DC, Senapati, S. Plim Reikheinamai, MCS, AC to DC, DLOs and NSS Student Volunteers of St. Xavier College.
