The Naga People’s Organisation (NPO) on Friday issues a statement condemning the incident at Daili village and gives ultimatum to the responsible community leaders to produce the perpetrators before the NPO Office within three (3) days from the date of this press release.
The statement issued by Kuba Peter, President of NPO and M. John Thangal General Secretary of NPO stated that, “the Naga People’s Organisation (NPO), Senapati, has expressed deep concern and strong condemnation over the repeated incidents that occurred at Daili Village, particularly the incident which occurred on 29th and 30th of October, 2025, the very day the entire Naga community of Southern Nagalim was observing Genna, as declared by the United Naga Council (UNC), in honour of the Historic Civic Reception Programme of Eno. Thuingaleng Muivah, the Hon’ble Ato Kilonser of the GPRN.
“On this solemn and momentous day, certain individuals were reportedly seen driving vehicles at excessive speed, moving up and down repeatedly while shouting provocative slogans such as “We demand Kuki land” and “We want Kuki land.” They further went to the extent of damaging the poster of our Hon’ble Ato Kilonser displayed in the village not once, but twice. In addition, they detonated a huge firecracker, causing panic among the villagers and severe mental distress, particularly to the elderly and young children.
“Such acts are not only irresponsible and irrational but also amount to deliberate provocation and a direct affront to the sentiments of the Naga people. The NPO views these actions as a calculated attempt to insult and dishonour our living legendary leader and to disturb the peaceful coexistence of communities in the area.
“The Naga People’s Organisation takes this matter with the utmost seriousness and firmly asserts that such incidents will no longer be tolerated under any circumstances.
“Therefore, the NPO demands that the responsible leaders of the concerned community take immediate and decisive action to identify and apprehend all individuals involved in these incidents and produce them before the NPO Office within three (3) days from the date of this press release.”
“Failing which, the NPO shall be compelled to initiate appropriate measures to safeguard the dignity and safety of the Naga people even if it risks straining to communal harmony” concluded the NPO statement.
