A first of its kind in Ukhrul, an agency for recruitment of the merchant navy and cruise industries, the office of Northeast Shipping and Recruitment Agency Pvt. Ltd. was inaugurated at Ukhrul on Saturday.
Ringthing Hongchui (MPS), Additional SP of Ukhrul officially inaugurated the office situated at Shanchipem Arcade (2nd Floor), Phungreitang, Ukhrul.
Speaking at the inauguration programme, Ringthing Hongchui stated that ‘through this Agency, I believe many of our youths will be guided in the right direction. Utmost care should be taken while giving job placement because there are many fake institutions running with false promises. There are around 75000 Government employees in Manipur. There is an urgent need to explore other professions and to accommodate the bulk of unemployed youth in different industries.”
President (In-charge) of Tangkhul Mayar Ngala Long, Ringphapam Kasar lauded the initiative and exuded confidence that the Agency would generate employment for the youth of Ukhrul and Kamjong, and he wished the best of luck in their future endeavours.
The recruitment agency is run by Shangpam Zimik and Henmi Ningshen, and it will cater to the needs of the unemployed youth especially from Ukhrul and Kamjong Districts.
The agency is an opportunity for the youth of Ukhrul and Kamjong to indulge in the profession of merchant navy and cruise industries. It will be a trusted partner and a platform to nurture and hone the skills of the youth, a preparatory agency for the youths who are interested in this profession and to generate employment for the people.
The Agency will offer courses on General Purpose For Deck and Engine, Diploma In Nautical Science- Deck Side, Graduate Marine Engineer, Higher National Diploma Deck And Engine, Electro Technical Officer and other courses.
The inauguration programme was attended by representatives from Tangkhul Naga Long, Tangkhul Katamnao Saklong and Tangkhul Leihsak Long among others.
