Naga Village Guard Allege Nexus Between Assam Rifles & Kuki Militants

The Naga Village Guard (NVG) stated that on 6th May, 2026, troops of Assam Rifles entered Choro and departed, followed by the barbaric attack by over 100 cadres of Myanmar -backed KNA-B today at 3:30 am at Choro, Namlee and Wanglee. This sequence of events raises grave and disturbing questions regarding the apparent flow of intelligence between the Assam Rifles and Kuki narco-terrorist groups. Assam Rifles were entrusted with safeguarding Indian international border with Myanmar and protecting Indian citizens within Indian territories, yet today these armed KNA-B, a constituent of PDF, have unleashed violence against the very nation that sustained them

The press release of NVG stated that “with profound outrage and absolute condemnation, the Naga Village Guard denounces the coordinated attacks by the shameless Kuki narco-terrorists and Myanmar-backed KNA-B in the wee morning of 7th May, 2026 at Choro, Namlee and Wanglee villages. Innocent civilians awoke to relentless bombings and firings, raids and terror threats, forcing innocent Tangkhul Naga villagers to flee for their lives. More than 13 houses were torched at Choro by the KNA-B and Kuki narco terrorists, houses in Namlee and Wanglee were also set ablaze, also leaving civilians injured in the attack.

“It is deeply appalling that the Kuki militants first orchestrated the arson of the abandoned Kuki village Lancha, thereby to conveniently use the same as a propaganda tool for attacking the Tangkhul Naga community. Such desperate and cheap theatricals with calculated propaganda can no longer deceive the general public.

“In the aftermath of the attack today, instead of pulling in efforts to apprehend foreign infiltrators the security forces apprehended one of our NVGs, a civil defender. Does this not demonstrate the insincerity of Indian deep state policy?

“In what can be said as an attempt to disconcert the NVGs and the Indian Government from the foreign invasion today, an attack was carried out by the Kuki narco-terrorists leaving a civilian severely injured when these barbarians indiscriminately fired upon civilians working in the paddy field of Sinakeithei village. In the shootout that took place in the clear line of sight of the security forces, they made zero attempt neither to return fire or neutralise the situation thereby leading to the injury of the civilian.

“Even more alarming is the unmistakeable pattern of coordinated assaults by Kuki narco-terrorists immediately following movement/operation/patrol conducted by the Assam Rifles. On 6th May, 2026, troops of Assam Rifles entered Choro and departed, followed by the barbaric attack by over 100 cadres of Myanmar-backed KNA-B today at 3:30 am at Choro, Namlee and Wanglee. This sequence of events raises grave and disturbing questions regarding the apparent flow of intelligence between the Assam Rifles and Kuki narco-terrorist groups. In reality, the Assam Rifles were entrusted with safeguarding Indian international border with Myanmar and protecting Indian citizens within Indian territories. It is no secret that India backed the Myanmar’s People’s Defence Force (PDF) in various capacities, yet today these armed KNA-B, a constituent of PDF, have unleashed violence against the very nation that sustained them. Perhaps this explains why Assam Rifles remained mute spectators even as the attacks unfolded barely 200-300 metres away from the Assam Rifles Company post.

“When India’s border security force, the Assam Rifles, appears powerless in the face of such blatant foreign-backed aggression, where then lies the safety and security of Indian civilians? Has the Government of India become so brazen that it no longer conceals the alleged use of KNA-B and other Kuki SoO groups as instruments in a proxy war against its own citizens? Has the world’s largest democracy descended to such a level of moral and humanitarian collapse?

“Our repeated appeals to both the State and Central Governments seem to have fallen on deaf ears and the sincerity of the MHA grow increasingly questionable. Is it not under the purview of the Indian government to extend protection to its own citizens? The very country that was desperate to take forward border fencing irrespective of the homes it divided now lies silent on such open foreign aggression? If we are abandoned and left undefended, then who shall protect our land and our people? We therefore reiterate with unwavering resolve that until the Assam Rifles begin to act with impartiality, integrity, and sincerity, our struggle to defend our ancestral land shall continue till the last drop of our blood” added the statement issued by the Media Cell, Eastern Command, Naga Village Guard.
