The first edition of Manipur Update Digital Journalism Award 2026 is all set to take place on 29 January 2026 at Sangai Hall, Imphal Hotel, Manipur.

‘The Board of Editors of TEAM MANIPUR UPDATE, hereby announces the First Edition of the MANIPUR UPDATE DIGITAL JOURNALISM AWARDS 2026, instituted to recognise excellence, credibility, and commitment in digital journalism. The Awards will be conferred on the basis of recommendations made by a three-member independent jury, whose identities shall remain confidential until the last date of entry” stated the notification issued by Team Manipur Update.

AWARD CATEGORIES

1. Digital Journalist of the Year

(For outstanding overall performance and impactful digital reporting in 2025.)

2. Promising Digital Journalist Award

(For emerging journalists showing strong potential in digital journalism.)

3. Distinguished Service in Digital Journalism Award

(For senior journalists with long-standing and exemplary contributions to digital journalism.)

4. Best Credible Digital Media Page / Channel

(For digital news platforms maintaining accuracy, credibility, and public trust)

5. Jury’s Choice Digital Journalism Award

(Special award for exceptional or innovative contribution, selected by the jury.)

AWARD VALUE

All award categories carry:

10,000 (Rupees Ten Thousand) + Certificate + Memento

AWARD CEREMONY

The Awards will be presented during “Beyond Silence” – 1st Manipur Digital Media Conclave 2026 on 29th January 2026 at Sangai Hall, Imphal Hotel, Manipur

ELIGIBILITY:

Applications are invited from journalists based in Manipur working with digital media organisations or digital news platforms (Webpages, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter etc), who are actively engaged in news services and have made meaningful contributions to public discourse through digital media during the year 2025.

Applicants must submit:

1. Brief bio-data

2. Three (3) published news reports between 1st January 2025 and 31st December 2025
