The Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF) has intensified its decisive campaign against illegal poppy cultivation, narcotics trafficking, and unlawful encroachment by illegal immigrants within the ancestral, customary, and historical territory of the Zeliangrong Inpui Naga people.

In a press communique issued by the Ministry of Information & Publicity, Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF), stated that, “despite repeated public alerts and sufficient time granted for peacefully compliance, enforcement action was carried out at 12.15pm, burnt the farm houses, farms and dismantled other essential materials against illegal poppy cultivation and unauthorised structures in the Waphong area of the Songnung Sadar Hills, Kangpokpi District, Manipur.

“Those involved have deliberately ignored the will of the indigenous people and continued illegal activities that seriously threaten public safety, indigenous land rights, and the future of the region. ZUF firmly declares that no foreign or illegal settlers shall be permitted to exploit, occupy, or degrade the ancestral land of the Zeliangrong Inpui Naga people under any pretext. ZUF sternly resolutes to eliminate illegal poppy cultivation and narcotics networks, remove all unauthorised settlements from indigenous land. The defence of our land, identity, and future is non-negotiable.”
