Honouring the legacy of his service, the Kuki CSO Working Committee Ukhrul paid respect and tribute to Late AS. Arthur who passed away on 2 May 2026 at Indraprastha Apollo Hospital, Delhi.

The statement issued by the Kuki CSOs Working Committee Ukhrul stated that “the WCKCSOs express profound grief on the passing of Late Mr. AS. Arthur, beloved father of our Hon’ble Outer Manipur MP, Mr. Alfred Kanngam Arthur.
“In this time of sorrow, we reflect not only on his exemplary service as a public servant and leader but also on the enduring values he instilled- values that inspire unity, responsibility and harmony within our communities.
“Though prevailing circumstances prevented our attendance at the funeral services, we are grateful to the bereaved family for allowing representatives of the Kuki population of Ukhrul- CSO leaders to pay their last respect enroute.
“Lalboi Haokip, President, KSO-Ukhrul, Mercy Khongsai, Vice Presiednt, KSO-Ukhrul along with women representatives of Kuki Women Union-Ukhrul honoured the mortal remains by laying Kuki traditional shawls, each representing different CSOs and individuals, symbolising solidarity and collective remembrance.
“We pray that God grants strength to the bereaved family and that the memory of late AS. Arthur inspires us all to uphold the values of compassion, dialogue and peace” added the statement of the Kuki CSOs Working Committee Ukhrul.
