The Working Committee, Joint Tribes’ Council Manipur (JTCM) has given 48 hours ultimatum to the Government of India and Government of Manipur to recover the missing head of Ajinbou R. The JTCM has also stated that the post-mortem examination for Dibambou Ringkangmai and Ajinbou R. will NOT be conducted until the missing head is recovered and returned to the family for a dignified burial.
It is learnt that the headless body of Ajinbou R. has arrived at the mortuary of the Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS) in Imphal around midnight on Sunday.
The statement issued by the The Working Committee, JTC-Manipur stated that “Working Committee JTC Manipur issues this supplemental statement to assert our non-negotiable stance regarding the barbaric massacre at Makui & Tapon Naga Village.
“In an act of unimaginable depravity that defies the very fabric of modern civilization, the decapitated head of Ajinbou R. remains missing, held captive by the perpetrators. Consequently, we declare that the post-mortem examination for Dibambou Ringkangmai and Ajinbou R. will NOT be conducted until the missing head is recovered and returned to the family for a dignified burial. We will not allow the state machinery to mutilate the remains further while the head is treated as a trophy by terrorists.
“This heinous crime is an affront to humanity. We hold the Government of India (Gol) and the Government of Manipur (GoM) directly responsible. The terrorists responsible for this savagery are operating with impunity under the protective umbrella of the Suspension of Operations (SoO) agreement signed by the Gol. The State’s continued failure to act makes it complicit in this butchery.
“Therefore, the Working Committee, JTC-Manipur, issues a final, non-negotiable 48-HOUR ULTIMATUM to the Gol and GoM to immediately locate and recover the missing head from the Kuki SoO sheltered terrorists and hand it over to the family. And arrest the perpetrators Thangboi Kipgen, David Hangsing, and Dr. Sailen Haokip, and ensure they face the full force of the law.
“If the government fails to comply within 48 hours, the Working Committee, JTC-Manipur, will be forced to take the most stringent measures at our disposal to secure justice. The blood of our innocent villagers will not be washed away by bureaucratic delays and empty condolences. We will not rest, and we will not relent” stated the press statement issued by the Information & Publicity, Working Committee, JTC-Manipur.
