Fame Tangkhul designer Easternlight Zimik showcased his beautiful and vibrant creations at the 21st edition of Celebrating North East India at Textile Center, Gangnam-gu, Seoul.
The 21st edition of Celebrating North East India was held on 6 -7 November 2025 by North East Institute of Fashion Technology (NEIFT) with the support of Embassy of India, Seoul, Republic of Korea, Indian Chamber of Commerce in Korea and Korea Federation of Textile Industries (KOFOTI).
The event was inaugurated by Indian Ambassador to Korea, Gourangalal Das in the presence of Executive Vice Chairman of KOFOTI Ms. Soyoung Joo. The other dignitaries include Nyato Dukam, Hon’ble Minister of Industries and Commerce, Government of Arunachal Pradesh, Kento Jini, Hon’ble Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs, Government of Arunachal Pradesh, Jaideep Mazumdar – Former Secretary of Foreign Affairs, U.P. Singh – Former Secretary of Textiles , Ritesh Enghi – EM-Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council, Madhurjya Dhekial Phukan -EM-Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council and host of Diplomatic Incorp of Seoul, fashion fraternity and international media.
The celebration underscored the timeless artistry and cultural depth of India’s textile traditions. The event, organized by the North East Institute of Fashion Technology and hosted by the Embassy of India, showcased the rich heritage, vibrant textiles and contemporary creativity of the Indian subcontinent.
Every region of India tells its own story through distinct fabrics, each reflecting centuries of tradition, identity and innovation. Six designers showcased their creations in Korea. EAST have been invited as changemakers in Indian fashion. A host of Korean models, clad in wrap-around walk down the ramp, showcasing the rich traditional attire of the Tangkhul community.
