The former Longvibu of Naga Army General (Retired) Ningkhan Shimray (MC, VC) Co-ordinator Indo-Naga Peace Talk on 4 August 2026 issued a clarification on the allegation made by Lieutenant General A. Raman (MM, MC) New Longvibu of GPRN -Provisional Government (Eastern Flank).

Lieutenant General A. Raman (MM, MC) on the occasion of the felicitation program held on the 29th July, 2026 at Mt. Horeb Camp had stated that “I also take this opportunity to clarify the assassination of Mr. Tirong Aboh, MLA of Arunachal Pradesh. The order came directly from the then Longvibu, General Anthony Ningkhan Shimray.”

The former Longvibu of Naga Army Gen. (Retd) Ningkhan Shimray has come out with a clarification stating that “on 29th July 2026 a baseless allegation was made by the new Longvibu A. Raman of the Provisional Government (Eastern Flank) that, MR. Tirong Aboh, MLA of Arunachal Pradesh was assassinated by himself under the directive of the then Longvibu of Naga Army.”

“Be informed, that, all the Political, Military affairs of Arunachal Pradesh were solely administered and supervised under the directives of the Prime Minister Office (PMO/AKO). The Arunachal Pradesh’s affairs were handed to GHQ. Naga Army on 15th March 2021 by the Prime Minister office for administrative exigencies. The order is attached herewith.

Ref.No: AKO/040/NSCN/GFIRN-2020

Oking 15 March 2021

ORDER

In view of national security and necessity, the General Headquarters, Naga Army is hereby entrusted to handle the affairs of Arunachal Pradesh under the supervision of Ato Kilonser’s Office (AKO) with immediate effect from the date of issue of this order.

Gen. (Retd.) Ningkhan Shimray clarified that “therefore, I knew nothing and had not issued any directives nor given any orders related to that gruesome assassination incident that had happened on 21 May 2019 because Arunachal Pradesh’s Affairs were never under the Jurisdiction of GHQ until the 15th March 2021.”

“Indo-Naga political issue is at the highest level but it is extremely sad and pitiful to see that the political vision of the Provisional government is narrowing down to this kind of the bottommost politics. Have the politics of the Eastern Flank stooped this low by tarnishing an individual’s legacy and position with false allegations and cheap smearing campaigns to assassinate the character of a veteran national worker?

“Therefore, instead of dividing amongst ourselves with false campaigns and lies, let us all be united in Christ with a common vision and strife forward in unity for one nation, one people” stated the clarification issued by the former Longvibu of Naga Army.

It bears mentioning that Mr. Tirong Aboh was assassinated on May 21, 2019. He and 10 others were killed in an ambush near Bogapani in the Tirap district of Arunachal Pradesh.
