Ccpur Observes Kargil Vijay Diwas

Remembering the brave heroes of Kargil War, the District Administration Churachandpur today observed the ‘Kargil Vijay Diwas’ at the Conference Hall, DC office, Mini Secretariat, Tuibong.

Speaking to the gathering, Deputy Commissioner of Churachandpur, Dharun Kumar S (IAS) stated that “we honour the sacrifices of the Indian Armed Forces in protecting India from the enemies, in the past and even to this present day. The District Administration is very privileged to be graced with the presence of the family member of Kargil Martyr Sepoy Zamkholal Vaiphei, who made the ultimate sacrifice by laying down his life for the country on 28th June, 1999. Today, we remembered the sacrifices made by the members of our Armed Forces, including respected Martyr Zamkhokal during the Kargil war.”

“During these troubled times in our state let us remember that our Armed Forces can teach us about the values of tolerance and peaceful coexistence. It represents mini India by having representation from all cultures and all corners of India and despite this diversity they all work together to defend and unite India. We shall continue to remember the sacrifices of our Kargil Martyrs” he added.

Brigadier P. Subramanian, DIG 27 Sector Assam Rifles who also attended the function said that Indian Armed Forces are often seen as not needed during peaceful times, and it is on such occasions like the Kargil Vijay Diwas that we realize the importance of our Armed Forces. “Today, we honour the sacrifices of our Martyrs and I pay my highest regards to the family members of our Martyrs Sepoy Zamkholal.”

During the program, DC of Churachandpur, Dharun Kumar S, (IAS) felicitated the Martyr’s family of Late Sepoy Zamkholal Vaiphei.

Prakhar Pandey (IPS), SP Churachandpur, Col (Retd) NG. Sitlhou, President of Ex-Servicemen Association, Churachandpur, civil and police officials attended the function.
