Adi Karmayogi Abhiyan in Ukhrul District

Adi Karmayogi Abhiyan, a flagship initiative under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs to build a decentralized tribal leadership and governance ecosystem was launched in Ukhrul District on 24th September 2025.

The inauguration of the District Level Orientation Programme at DRDA Hall, Mini Secretariat Complex, Ukhrul was attended by Officers of the District Administration, District Level Officers of Line Departments, State and District Master Trainers along with nominated block nodal officers, block master trainers, NGOs and volunteers.

Delivering the keynote address, the Deputy Commissioner of Ukhrul, Asish Das (IAS) urged upon the participants to take responsible leadership role for all round development of the District, and emphasized that hopes and aspirations can be realized with active participation of the people especially the younger generation.

District Prabhari for Adi Karmayogi Abhiyan, Vikas Ranjan deputed by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs attended the programme and outlined the various facets of the Abhiyan. The programme is being implemented by the District Administration in collaboration with partner NGO UDCRMS (Ukhrul District Community Resource Management Society). District Nodal Officer, Dinringam Kamei, SDO Ukhrul proposed the vote of thanks at the orientation programme.

The District Level Orientation was followed by 3-days District Process Lab (DPL), a training programme for the meaningful implementation of the Abhiyan, imparted by the District Master Trainers (DMTs) and attended by nominated Block Nodal Officers, Block Master Trainers, representatives of Line Departments and Volunteers. It concluded successfully on the 27th of September 2025.

While the programme will be implemented across the district in 52 villages, as pilot initiative the Abhiyan was launched simultaneously at Sirarakhong Village under LM Block on 24th September 2025 by a special team consisting of District Master Trainers, UDCRMS and block officials. Through participative engagement, the special team and the villagers carried out various activities like Village Level Orientation, workshop, manpower mapping, resource mapping, transect walk and designation of Adi Sewa Kendra for developing Village Action Plan (Vision 2030) of the village.
