The Tangkhul CSOs comprising of Kamjong Headquarters Town Committee, Raizan Katamnao Long, Zingsho Katamnao Long, Kamjong Shanao Long, Kamjong Katamnao Long and Tangkhul Naga Zingsho Longphang has appealed the Hon’ble Chief Minister, Manipur, to stay the transfer order of Tholu Rocky, MPS, Superintendent of Police, Kamjong District.
The letter stated, “with regard to the subject cited above, we, the undersigned, on behalf of the Tangkhul Naga Civil Society Organisations based in Kamjong Headquarters, Raizan and Zingsho region have the honour to state the following matters for your kind intervention and immediate necessary action:
1. That, the general public of Kamjong District have expressed deep discontentment over the sudden and unjustified transfer of Shri. Tholu Rocky, MPS, Superintendent of Police, Kamjong District, based on the incident of Chassad/Kamjong on the 17th of October 2026, in which the Kuki National Army-Burma (KNA-B) and Village Volunteers of Eastern Zone (VVEZ) were involved in the armed attacks on the innocent Tangkhul Naga civilians.
2. That, there has been a series of attack and cross-border terrorism committed by the KNA-B and VVEZ against the Naga villagers in Z. Choro, Wanglee and Namlee on the 7th of May 2026; Pilong and Ningchou on the 24th of September and the 10th of October 2026 respectively, in which altogether six (6) civilians have lost their lives. Further, a similar offensive of grave nature against the Tangkhul Naga civilians was repeated in Huimin Thana and Kherongram, Nampisha on the 1″ of July 2026; Kamjong Headquarters on the 9th of October 2026, and Skipe and Pilong Tangkhul villages today, the 18th of October 2026. However, in all these cases, the State and Central Government have shown an obvious indifference and have not initiated any action so far towards the grave circumstances facing the border villagers.
3. That, the immediate and biased action initiated by the authorities following the false allegation levelled against the upright senior Police Officer by certain Kuki Legislator and representatives of their civil society organisations is totally uncalled for and squarely against the larger interest of the public in Kamjong District.
4. That, the incumbent Superintendent of Police, Kamjong District Shri. Tholu Rocky, MPS, has an impeccable service record and exceptional rapport with the people in Kamjong District, Manipur. His integrity, dedication to public service and administrative transparency is highly commendable.
“It is, therefore, in the larger interest of the public of Kamjong District, Manipur the transfer order (vide:TB-5/2/2026-DP-DP) incumbent SP Kamjong, Tholu Rocky, MPS, must be stayed immediately” added the letter submitted through the Hon’ble MLA of 43-Phungyar Assembly Constituency.
