The Makui Village Authority has strongly condemned the brutal ambush and killing of innocent naga civilians by suspected Kuki Armed Groups along IT- Road, Kangpokpi.
The press statement issued by Makui Village Authority stated that “the Makui Village Authority is in deep shock and anguish to inform that today at around 9:30 AM, innocent Naga civilians were ambushed and mercilessly killed by armed Kuki narco-terrorist refugee militants allegedly belonging to KNF (P), KNF and KRA under the command of Jangboi Kipgen, Home Secretary, KNF/UPF.
“The inhuman attack took place between Makui Ashang Village and Thanamba Naga Village, which is the only lifeline road for all Naga villages living along the IT – Road.
“In this cowardly ambush, 4 Naga civilians died and 1 injured. The victims are:
1. Tadsongwibou Ringkangmai (age: 33 yrs) – Founder & Principal, Right Path School, T. Khullen – Dead
2. Wisobou Charenamai (age: 57 yrs) – Chairman, Chawangkining Village Authority – Dead
3. Anil Wijunamai (age: 30 yrs) – Dead
4. Mariakdibou Wijunamai (age: 36 yrs) – Dead
5. Gaikamang Ringkangmai (age: 44 yrs) – Injured
“We condemn this barbaric, cowardly and pre-planned killing of unarmed civilians in the strongest terms. Killing a School Principal, Youth Leaders, a Student Leader and a Village Chairman proves that these narco-terrorists have no respect for human life.
“This is not just an attack on Makui village, this is an attack on all Nagas living along IT – Road and an attempt to cut our lifeline.”
The Makui Village Authority has demanded:
1. Immediate arrest to those responsible.
2. The Government of India and State Government must take full responsibility for the safety of Naga civilians in Kangpokpi District.
“We appeal to all Naga civil bodies, student organizations and village authorities to stand together in this hour of grief. May the departed souls rest in eternal peace and we pray for the speedy recovery” stated the statement issued by the Makui Village Authority.
