The Kamjong District Administration today organised Har Ghar Tiranga Rally at Kamjong Headquarters. The rally was led by Deputy Commissioner L.N. Kashung (IAS) and Superintendent of Police Tholu Rocky as a part of the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign being observed across the country from 9th to 17th August, 2026.
The tiranga rally began from Kamjong Higher Secondary School Ground and marched till Awontang.
District Administration Officials, District Level Officers, personnel of security forces, teachers and students representing different schools participated in the rally waving the tri-colour flag showing their respect for the tiranga.
Speaking on the occasion, L.N. Kashung stated that the campaign symbolises the honour, prestige and glory of the freedom fighters who have sacrificed their lives for the sake of their motherland. He also urged the students to put the nation first in their endeavours with dignity and respect.
It may be mentioned that the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign is a landmark initiative launched by the Government of India, encouraging citizens to bring the National Flag (Tiranga) home and hoist it to mark India’s Independence Day. This year’s campaign also highlights the 150th anniversary of the national song, Vande Mataram.
Earlier this morning, a full dress rehearsal for the 80th Independence Day Celebration, 2026 was held at the Kamjong Higher Secondary School Ground. All together 20 march past contingents including one each from 14th Border Security Force, 11th Indian Reserve Battalion and Male Police and 17 school contingents participated in the rehearsal.
Deputy Commissioner L.N. Kashung (IAS) will hoist the national flag and take the salute from the march past contingents at the Kamjong Higher Secondary School Ground on August 15, celebrating the countryโs 80th Independence Day.
