Electoral Roll Observer Reviews SIR Status In Kamjong

A review meeting on the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the Electoral Roll was held today at the Conference Hall, Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Kamjong District.

The meeting was chaired by Electoral Roll Observer for 43-Phungyar (ST) AC and Commissioner (MA/OBC & SC), Government of Manipur, Armstrong Pame (IAS).

The meeting was attended by District Election Officer and Deputy Commissioner, Kamjong, L.N. Kashung (IAS), Superintendent of Police, Kamjong Tholu Rocky, Additional District Election Officer and ADC, Kamjong H.L. Jain, Election Officials and representatives of recognised National and State Political Parties among others.

During the meeting, matters related to required documents and various doubts raised by the public are brought to the notice of the Electoral Roll Observer. Representatives of political parties raised issues relating to submission of documents and discrepancies concerning the ongoing SIR.

After listening to the concerns raised during the meeting, Armstrong Pame urged the Electoral Registration Officer and other election officials that the electoral rolls should be accurate and free from ineligible or duplicate electors, while ensuring that no eligible elector is left out of the Electoral Roll.
