The Tangkhul Naga Long along with the other Tangkhul Frontal Organisations under the aegis of United Naga Council observed the 11th Anniversary of the signing of the Indo-Naga Framework Agreement on 3rd August 2015 at Town Hall, Ukhrul.
Marking the observance, the Tangkhul Naga Long and the Frontal Organisations submitted the “Public Declaration” to the Deputy Commissioner of Ukhrul for onward submission to the Prime Minister and Home Minister of India.
The Public Declaration reads, “on this day, the third of August 2026, we, the Nagas of undivided Ukhrul district, Manipur, solemnly observe the 11th anniversary of the signing of the Indo-Naga Framework Agreement and hereby declare that we honor and fully support the framework agreement. It is the fervent wish of the Naga people that the Agreement should be implemented in letter and spirit for an honorable and acceptable solution at the earliest.
“After 11 years of patient and prayerful wait, we are sending out a strong message to the government of India and to the world at large that the indefinite period of pendency of the final settlement is a dishonor and disrespect for our historical and political rights as a people.
“It is therefore, our fervent appeal to the government of India to exercise the indispensable political will and sincerity to give effect and substance to the principles mutually agreed upon in the Framework Agreement and thereby turn the page of history to an era of peace and harmonious co-existence of the two entities.”
The Public Declaration was jointly signed by Sword Vashum, President of TNL, Kashung Tennyson, President of TNAL, Thingreiphi Lungharwoshi, President of TSL, Ramreichan Keishing, President of TKS and Ringphapam Kasar, President (In-charge) of TMNL.
Hundreds of people marched from Town Hall to DC Office, Mini Secretariat Complex while submitting the Public Declaration. The public shouted slogans, such as:
1. We Want : EARLY SOLUTION
2. We Support: FRAMEWORK AGREEMENT.
3. We Dont Want: MILITARIZATION
4. No More : BLOODSHED
5. Stop! Stop! Stop! : PROXY WAR! PROXY WAR
6. Combing Operation : NOT THE SOLUTION
