Applicants Invited For Girl Students For Pragya Scholarship Scheme

Applications are invited from eligible girl students of Ukhrul and Kamjong Districts for identification and recommendation under the “Pragya” Scholarship Scheme, funded through the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative of Coal India Limited, for award of Scholarships to vulnerable girl students.

Under the Scheme, selected beneficiaries studying in Class VIII or above shall receive a scholarship of Rs.50,000/- (Rupees Fifty thousand only) per annum for a period of four (4) years, subject to the terms and conditions of the Scheme.

ELIGIBILITY:

The applicant must be a girl student studying in Class VIII or above and should fall under any one of the following categories:

*Girl who has lost both parents;

*Girl who has lost the bread-winning parent;

*Girl with physical disabilities;

*Girl whose parents are unable to support her education;

*Girl whose father is in jail and whose mother is not earning enough to support her education;

*Tribal girl whose both parents are not earning enough to support her education; or

*Any other similarly situated vulnerable girl.

DOCUMENTS TO BE SUBMITTED:

1. Birth Certificate or any other valid proof of age.

2. Aadhaar Card or any other Government-issued Photo Identity Card.

3. Bonafide Certificate issued by the Head of the Institution/School certifying that the applicant is presently studying in Class VIII or above.

4. Latest Academic Record/Mark Sheet.

5. Passport-size Photograph.

6. Documents supporting the applicant’s eligibility under the relevant category, wherever applicable, such as Death Certificate(s) of parent(s), Disability Certificate, Income Certificate of parent(s)/guardian or any other document indicating financial hardship, Certificate regarding incarceration of the father issued by the competent authority, or any other relevant document supporting the applicant’s claim of vulnerability.

7. Contact details of the applicant and parent/guardian.

SUBMISSION OF APPLICATIONS:

Eligible applicants shall submit their applications along with the requisite supporting documents to the Office of the District Legal Services Authority, Ukhrul, on or before 20th July, 2026, during office hours.

Mere submission of an application shall not confer any right to receive the scholarship.

Incomplete applications or applications received after the last date shall not be considered.
