A 3-day State-wide Registration Camp under the “Jan Kalyan Shivir Initiative 2026” conducted across Ukhrul District from 17th to 19th June 2026 concluded today at DRDA Hall, Mini Secretariat Complex, Ukhrul.
Speaking with media persons, Deputy Commissioner of Ukhrul, Uppuluri Chaitanya (IAS), stated that “the main aim of this awareness programme is to ensure that the schemes are delivered to the citizens on a timely basis, so that, no one is left out. It started on the 17th, held at various places like Jessami camp office, Chingai camp office. Overall, we have received 550 applications as of yesterday. Today, we have received 300 to 400 applications and the disposal rate of this application is also quite high. It is a commendable work of all the DLOs with around 95% rate. So, we are very happy to execute this.
Explaining the significance of the event, he stated that “it is because every DLO of the district is here. For example, if somebody wishes to take up entrepreneurship in mushroom cultivation or piggery or poultry; they can come here and discuss with the DLO incharge of livelihood. Then, if they need further assistance, say mushroom cultivation, they can go to the horticulture department; piggery can go to either veterinary or agriculture department. So, it is a collaborative affair of all the DLOs to make all the services within the reach of the beneficiaries. We are happy with the success, today being the last day. We are hoping for more turnout next time.”
The Jan Kalyan Shivir is a public welfare campaign aimed at ensuring effective outreach and saturation of welfare and beneficiary-oriented schemes of the Central and State Governments to all eligible citizens. The District Administration of Ukhrul has initiated these mega registration camps at Sub-Divisional levels.
During the camp, the citizens were able to make fresh registration under various welfare and beneficiary schemes, rectification and correction of errors in existing records/applications.
