KSO Ukhrul To Organise Sit-In Protest At Shangkai

The Kuki Students’ Organisation Ukhrul is all set to organise a Sit-In Protest on 20 May 2026 at Shangkai Village from 8:30am onwards.

The notice issued by KSO-Ukhrul stated that, “this is to inform all the general public, students, school staff, and all KWU Units of Ukhrul and Bungpi that a Sit-In Protest will be held on 20th May 2026 at Shangkai Village from 8:30 AM onwards.”

It further added that the protest is being organized by KSO Ukhrul in collaboration with KWU-Ukhrul under the aegis of WCKCSOs-Ukhrul against:

1. Failure to implement the 19 March MoU that is directly impacting the students

2. Administrative Neglect Pushing Kuki Students Into Crisis

3. The kidnapping of three Kuki-Zo students and eleven other Kuki-Zo men by SDSA and NSCN (IM)

4. Systematic atrocities against the Kuki-Zo people in Ukhrul & Kamjong

The KSO Ukhrul requested all concerned to participate in solidarity and support the cause of justice, peace, and protection of human rights.
