NVG Eastern Command Warns Ukhrul’s Kuki CSO Working Committee

The Naga Village Guard, Eastern Command, is constrained to issue this stern warning against the Kuki CSO Working Committee Ukhrul for arbitrarily calling an indefinite shutdown of National Highway 202 with effect from the 13th of May 2026.

The statement of NVG Eastern Command stated that, “where on earth do the Kukis have the rights and audacity to come to an arbitrary decision and impose their will in Naga’s ancestral land? The National Highway 202-A, an arterial route for Ukhrul and Kamjong districts, has been out of bound particularly for the Naga civilians since the outbreak of violent conflict on the 7th of February, 2026.

“A stretch of route along the National Highway 202-A from TM Kasom (Roudei) to Mahadev under the jurisdiction of Ukhrul-Kamjong districts is now considered as one of the most militarized zones in the whole state of Manipur. However, a stark irony remains as the particular section of the road has reported a high incidence of ambush, killings, extortion and abduction of innocent civilians including women and children.

“The Naga Village Guards has been tolerant enough with all the inhuman excesses being carried out by the nomadic Kukis. We will be compelled to retaliate in a befitting manner beyond the imagination of the war-mongering Kukis if they fail to come to sanity in time.

“The concerned authorities of the State must immediately swing into action against such unconstitutional act being enforced by a self-styled organisation. The Kuki CSO Working Committee Ukhrul is an unlawful group, and therefore, any person involved under the banner must be arrested and awarded a befitting penalty under the law of the land” stated the statement issued by the Media Cell, NVG, Eastern Command.
