ANSAM Condemns Cross-border Terrorist Aggression

The All Naga Students’ Association, Manipur (ANSAM) strongly condemned the barbaric cross-border terrorist aggression perpetrated by the nomadic Kuki armed militants under SoO and the foreign Burma-based Peoples Defence Force (PDF) jointly with the Kuki National Army-Burma (KNA-B) aided by Kuki refugees upon innocent Naga villages along the Indo–Myanmar frontier in the Kamjong area of Ukhrul. The coordinated attacks which have been continuing upon the Naga villages of TM Kasom, Ringui, Thoyee, Sharkaphung, S. Laho and Sinakeithei, followed by the large-scale armed invasion carried out during the early hours of 7th May 2026 at Z. Choro, Namlee, Wanglee Market and Ashang Khullen (KAKA) tarnishing the houses into ashes had exposed their unlawful deliberate campaign of organised terror calculated to terrorise indigenous people of the land to fulfill their wild immaginary dream of Zalengam based on the fabricated stories and lopsided history, orchestrated with the hidden hands sponsoring Kuki mercenaries to suppress the inherent birth rights of the Naga people in our God given ancestral land. Following which they carried out another brutal attack upon Sinakeithei villagers again on the same day at around 12:30 P.M, from the Lungter Hill Range with indiscriminate gunfire fatally injuring an innocent villager sustaining multiple gunshot wounds during the attactk.

These crimes violating the International Human rights have been continuing in the Naga soil of Kamjong areas and Ukhrul district in Manipur State following the illegal intrusion of hundreds of heavily armed KNA-B militants and Kuki PDF in coordination with the Kuki refugees from Myanmar who were taking temporary shelter in our land due to unrest violence in Myanmar, where the illegal armed foreigners and Kuki armed militants under SoO have been continuously launching indiscriminate gunfire, bombing, coordinated assaults from multiple directions. Their hilarious crime of burning down and destroying the civilian habitations of the land owners under the nose of the Indian Armed forces exposed an intolerable collapse and negligence in duty of Indian security forces deployed there to protect the people and defend the land, with its biased actions highly questionable and suspicious whether they are working hand in gloves with those perpetrators. Disturbingly, combat drones were illegally utilised by them for bombing during the attack and the execution of armed operations, thereby escalating the scale and sophistication of terror inflicted upon defenceless civilian populations. The systematic burning and destruction of houses were carried out with the active involvement of refugee elements taking shelter in the affected regions, thereby deepening the gravity of the humanitarian and security crisis. Women, children, and elderly villagers were forced to flee into forests and wildernesses under horrifying conditions of terror, displacement, and devastation. The forceful seizure, plundering, and devastation of homes, granaries, livestock, essential belongings, and civilian assets belonging to indigenous Naga families constitute not merely acts of criminality, but deliberate instruments of terror intended to economically cripple, psychologically intimidate, and forcibly destabilise vulnerable Naga villages. Such International law violations and unlawful crimes violating human rights committed by illegal immigrants on innocent human lives is highly condemnable by all.

The Kuki National Army-Burma (KNA-B) and PDF, being foreign Burma-origin militant formations, possess absolutely no historical, political, territorial, or moral legitimacy to infiltrate and unleash violence upon indigenous Naga territories. No refugee-backed militant apparatus or foreign armed syndicate shall ever possess the legitimacy to desecrate ancestral Naga lands through terror, looting, abduction, and militarised encroachment. The abduction, disappearance, intimidation, and terrorisation of indigenous villagers by the Myanmar based Kuki armed militants, KNA-B represent a gross violation of human rights and an unforgivable assault upon the collective dignity and security of the Naga people. These attacks are not isolated incidents confined to a handful of villages. They constitute a direct attack upon the collective sanctity and historical existence of the Indigenous populace in the state .

The Association seriously take note over the alarming pattern of inaction, questionable neutrality, and perceived partiality displayed by Indian Security Forces especially the Assam Rifles operating in these vulnerable regions. The repeated recurrence of nomadic Kuki militancy attacks immediately following Indian security movements has generated grave public suspicion and widespread anger among the indigenous population. The continued failure to decisively intercept foreign armed infiltrators despite prior security presence has created a dangerous perception that the security concerns of the Naga people are being neglected with shocking indifference.

ANSAM therefore demands the concerned Authority for immediate intervention to release the Naga civilians abducted by the KNA-B and deployment of Manipur State forces and specialised State Commando units to affected Naga villages and vulnerable areas by removing all the central forces especially the Assam Rifles. The concerned government must immediately initiative large-scale search and rescue operations to locate the missing villagers abducted by the Kuki militants, recover looted civilian properties, and ensure the protection and safe rehabilitation of displaced families affected by the attacks.

“At this grave and volatile juncture, the All Naga Students’ Association, Manipur stands in absolute and unflinching solidarity with the affected villages and displaced families enduring terror, devastation, displacement, and unspeakable insecurity. The Nagas must always remain vigilant, resolute, and unyielding against every manifestation of foreign militant intrusion, refugee-backed extremism, territorial aggression, organised looting, civilian intimidation, and externally engineered terrorism directed in Naga areas. While reminding the Government of India and Government of Manipur to sincerely intervene to all these unwarranted crimes committed by the illegal immigrants violating the International rights and to bring solution based on the historical facts , we would like to putforth straight that the failure of the concerns to seek solution leading to dire consequences shall be held responsible by the GoI and GoM, and the whole Naga populace will not remain as a mere spectators when one of our own continue to suffer in the hands of the aggressors in our own God given land” added the statement issued by the Information & Publicity, ANSAM
