The Tangkhul Naga Foothills Organisation (TNFO), Central Working Committee, expresses its deepest appreciation and heartfelt gratitude to the Commanding Officer and all ranks of the 4 Mahar Regiment for their exemplary courage, swift response, and unwavering commitment in rescuing innocent civilians under extremely dangerous and life-threatening circumstances.
The statement issued by Media/Information & Publicity Cell CWC, TNFO stated “your successful operation on 11th March 2026, which led to the rescue of 21 civilians abducted by Kuki militants at Shangkai, stands as a shining example of professionalism, bravery, and dedication to duty.
“Further, your timely and courageous intervention today at Sinakeithei, where a mother and her son were stranded due to continuous and indiscriminate firing by Kuki militants targeting them in their backyard—approximately 150–200 meters from their residence while plucking garden vegetables, is highly commendable. The sustained and intense gunfire from militants positioned on the Lungter hillside for nearly five hours created an extremely perilous situation. Your decisive action ensured their safety and prevented a potential tragedy.
“Such acts of valor and humanitarian service reflect the highest traditions of the Indian Army and reinforce the trust and confidence of the people in your noble service.”
The Tangkhul Naga Foothills Organisation (TNFO), Central Working Committee, salutes their bravery of the Mahar Regiment and extends their sincere gratitude for their selfless service in protecting innocent lives.
