General Ningkhan Shimray (MC. VC) Longvibu, Naga Army Cum Co-Ordinator Indo-Naga Peace Talk on Saturday expressed words of appreciation to all the conscious Nagas across Nagalim.
The statement reads “Warm Greetings to all my comrades and fellow Nagas across Nagalim in the precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ! Praise God from whom all blessings flow!
“Upon my retirement from Longvibu, I took this opportunity to wholeheartedly pour out my gratitude and appreciation for the momentous cooperation and encouragement showered upon me by people from all walks of life – the Naga Christian churches and prayer warriors for their unceasing prayer and support, various CSO’s and public leaders for their utmost support and endorsement. You all play a very crucial role in the success and accomplishment of my term as being the Longvibu. Through the calling of the Almighty God in the year 1981, I have rendered my service for the cause of the Naga Nation in various capacities, in the passage of time, I was shot and fatally wounded on 11th May 1984 and I still carry that 5 bullets in my body which is a testament of my sacrifice for the cause of the Nation. I was arrested and incarcerated for 5 times, whereby I managed to escape from the heavily guarded jail twice, I was entrusted with the foreign affairs and policy, and thereby, established our first Foreign Office at Bangkok and thus, created a friendly and political alliances across Asia through talk and diplomacies, further procured huge consignment of Arms/Ammunitions/Combat materials from the International market and sailed through China Sea, Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal with insurmountable risk. This risky operation was successfully carried out 3 times with Divine guidance and protection. Likewise, I was charged with crimes for arms peddling in cahoots with the Chinese and lodge at Tihar Jail on 27th September 2010 but due to peoples’ tireless efforts and sacrifices, showcasing solidarity and organising mass movement against my arrest, unceasing prayers and moral support, I was finally released from Tihar Jail on 3rd August 2016. Meanwhile, I was also appointed as the Political Commissar, in the midst of time, attended several seminars and conferences on conflict resolution and Human rights issue and on 02/12/2017 appointed as the Longvibu (Chief of the Naga Army).
“During my term as the Longvibu, I have witnessed the unwavering support of the people and their enthusiastic spirit of nationalism that echoed throughout Nagalim and beyond borders expressed and showcased during my visits, meetings and Interactions. My achievements and accomplishments thus far are due to your Prayer, Moral, Emotional and Physical support, I would never have come this far without your prayers, blessings and co-operation
“Besides thanking and appreciating to all the Nagas, I sincerely appeal to all conscious Nagas across Nagalim & beyond borders, irrespective of socio-political affiliations to rise above tribalism. Let us do away with the narrow polities of factionalism because our God given mission is national liberation. We need to stand together as one and fight against the adversary at this crucial moment of truth. Further, I also appeal to all the sensible Nagas to fully support and endorse the framework agreement (FA) and march forward in unison for the final solution.
“Lastly, I thank the Lord, God Almighty for his unchanging love, grace & mercy, guiding me all throughout my life, giving me victory and achievement, helping me to overcome any storm that comes across my path, and also to all the national leaders for their trust, support and guidance during my tenure as Longvibu. Finally, I honestly appeal the peoples to extend their fullest co-operation and support to the new Longvibu (Lieut. Gen. Honreishang Shadang- MSM,MC)
“Above all, the constant and unyielding support and co-operation of the people across Nagalim spearheaded by various leaders of the CSO’S/Unions/Churches/ Organizations etc is highly praiseworthy and cherishable and further appeal to continue their support for the Naga cause.
“Thank you all and God Bless you all. KUKNALIM. God Bless Naga Army, God Bless NSCN/GPRN, God Bless NAGALIM”
