In a remarkable display of unity and community spirit, the Tangkhul Leihsak Long (Tangkhul Trade and Commerce Council), with generous support and contributions from the business community of Ukhrul Town, successfully served humble refreshments to the tens of thousands who gathered to welcome Āvākharar Th. Muivah on his homecoming.
The initiative provided water, juice, chocolates, and snacks to an estimated 40,000–50,000 people, ensuring that the large gathering was well cared for throughout the event. This thoughtful gesture stands as a testament to the Tangkhul Leihsak Long’s commitment to community welfare and solidarity.
Beyond hospitality, the Tangkhul Leihsak Long also undertook a major clean-up drive in collaboration with the UBC Youth clearing garbage and waste along the stretch from Ukhrul Headquarters Ground to Dungrei Junction. Their collective effort not only maintained cleanliness during the event but also reflected a strong sense of civic responsibility and pride in keeping the town clean and welcoming.
This initiative exemplifies the spirit of service, cooperation, and collective responsibility-values that continue to strengthen the Tangkhul community.
