AR Personnel Booked For Alleged Misconduct On Minors

Womenfolk from different places including representatives from Tangkhul Shanao Long, Kamphasom Shanao Long on Wednesday gathered at Women Police Station Ukhrul demanding the registration of an FIR against Madan Singh, who allegedly assaulted  two minor girls at Kamphasom, Ukhrul on 23 September 2025.

The Ukhrul Police assured the gathering that action will be taken according to the outcome of the ongoing investigation.

Madan Singh (37 years) from Uttarakhand, presently posted at 18 Assam Rifles, Somsai has been booked by Ukhrul Police on receiving a complaint of misconduct with a minors. The mothers of the two minors have submitted a complaint report to OC, Women PS, Ukhrul stating that on 23 September 2025 at around 12:15 pm, one Assam Rifles personnel had grasped the hand of one of the girls. The accused had opened the rear door of the bolero and tried to push them inside the vehicle. The girls cried out for help and a lone passerby intervened and soon more people turned up. The alleged culprit was taken to the Kamphasom Community Hall and was later handed over to Ukhrul Police.

According to Police, the incident happened at 12:15pm on 23 September 2025 near Bethel Hospital, Kamphasom, Ukhrul. The accused was booked yesterday by the Ukhrul Police, after undergoing a medical test at District Hospital Ukhrul, he was released on PR Bond (Personal Release Bond).

The crime scene had been investigated by the Police and the statement of the accused had been recorded. Enquiry is being initiated to establish the facts and circumstances of the case.
