The celebration of Naga Independence Day on 14 August is gaining momentum each passing year especially in the Naga areas of Myanmar.

Chen Hoyat – a village in the Konyak Naga area of Myanmar, close to the Indian border celebrated the 79th Naga Independence Day with great enthusiasm and fervour.

The Chen Hoyat village is known for its connection to Naga national workers and leaders and their support for the Naga cause.

Like any Naga, the Chen Hoyat villagers hopes that a political settlement can be reached for all Nagas and that peace finally prevails in Naga areas, wherever they are.
