In a historic first, Ukhrul Press Club (UPC) was officially inaugurated on Monday by Sword Vashum, President of Tangkhul Naga Long on October 13, 2025 at 2pm at First Floor, TNL Office cum Multipurpose Hall, Wino Tang, Ukhrul, Manipur.
The inaugural was also attended by Akui L Shimray, DGM-MSPDCL Ukhrul and members of Ukhrul District Working Journalist Association (UDWJA) along with distinguished guests.
“UDWJA was founded in 1998 and this is the first Press Club in the District. The inauguration is a significant achievement for the press fraternity of Ukhrul District to have a common space to work and serve the community better” stated the press release issued by Mingyashin Shaiza, General Secretary of Ukhrul District Working Journalists’ Association (UDWJA)
