The Raizan Traders’ Association (RTA) informs the public that a temporary ban on trade activities with the counterpart traders’ board across the Indo-Myanmar border of Raizan area has been imposed with immediate effect from 15 November 2025.
This decision has been taken after repeated attempts to establish transparent and organized trade practices were ignored by the other party.
Over the past months, traders of the Raiza area have faced:
–Sudden and unexplained price increases.
–Irregular flow of goods.
–Unexpected shortage of essential commodities.
–Unstable market conditions affecting both traders and consumers.
Despite multiple notices, reminders and formal communications issued by the traders Association requesting corrective action and structured coordination, the counterpart board in Myanmar has failed to respond or participate in any negotiation.
In the best interest of Raizan Area traders, and to safeguard the market from further instability, the Association has been left with no option but to implement this temporary ban.
The purpose of this ban is to:
1. Stabilize commodity prices.
2. Ensure proper channelization of goods entering India.
3. Establish an acceptable and mutually agreed rate system.
4. Create a transparent and regulated flow of trade.
The RTA reiterates that this step is not taken in hostility, but as a necessary measure to protect the livelihood of Raizan traders and resort fair, disciplined, and reliable trade operations so that trade may resume under a system that benefits both sides equally.
