Tangkhul Community Awaits Th. Muivah's Homecoming

The Tangkhul Civil Organisation is all set to welcome Th. Muivah, Ato Kilonser, NSCN, who will be landing at Ukhrul Headquarters on 22 October 2025. According to the travel itinerary, Ato Kilonser will spend a week at his birthplace Somdal.

The apex body of Tangkhul community, Tangkhul Naga Long has expressed its readiness and excitement to welcome Ato Kilonser homecoming. President of TNL, Sword Vashum stated, “I as the President of Tangkhul Naga Long would like to state that it is the responsibility of all the Tangkhuls to welcome our respected Ato Kilonser, Th. Muivah who is coming home after 50 years. I want to wish him good health, free from any disturbance, to come home and meet everyone home. We are all waiting to share a blessed time with him.”

Kashung Tennyson, President of Tangkhul Naga Awunga Long (TNAL – Chiefs Association) stated, “I along with all the Tangkhul village chiefs are earnestly looking forward to our beloved and respected Ato Kilonser’s homecoming. Along with that, we, the Tangkhul Naga Awunga Long and Tangkhul Naga Wungva Long are giving our maximum efforts to welcome him who has done so much, sacrificing his life to attain our freedom, to live with dignity and respect as a Nation.”

President of Tangkhul Shanao Long, Thingreiphy Lungharwoshi stated “we, the members of Tangkhul Shanao Long are happily anticipating the return of our beloved Āvākharar Thuingaleng Muivah, the Ato Kilonser, GPRN. Today, we like to express our thanks to him for his service though our gratitude will never be enough for the service he has given all these years. When he comes we want to serve him our Tangkhul delicacies, whatever he wishes to have. It is our earnest prayer that Āvākharar and his entourage will have a safe journey, we pray that they may come home free from all encumbrances. We pray for God’s guidance in all the arrangements, so that all of us can have a wonderful meeting.”

Ringphapam Kasar, the President in-charge of Tangkhul Mayar Ngala Long stated “I am very happy to know that Āvākharar will be coming home on 22nd October. I believe all the Tangkhuls share the same sentiments. I am very grateful for his leadership and sacrifice for not just the Tangkhuls but also the whole Nagas in our political struggle. For his homecoming, a committee has been formed with representatives from all our frontal organisations and GPRN. We are giving our best efforts to make it a grand success. We also pray for good weather. He is coming home after more than 50 years. He has given his best for his people and we cannot expect more than what he has given. It is my sincere appeal to every Tangkhul, let us welcome him warmly and wholeheartedly to show our gratitude.”

Preparations are in full swing for the homecoming of Th. Muivah at Ukhrul Headquarters and Somdal Village. Banners are being raised at various locations, the Tangkhul community and the rest of the Nagas in Manipur are waiting for the historic homecoming of their Avakharar, the Ato Kilonser of NSCN/GPRN.
