President of TNL Visits Z Choro & Neighbouring Border Area Villages

The President of Tangkhul Naga Long, Qr. Sword Vashum, on Sunday visited Z Choro, KAKA, Wanglee, Namlee, Skipe, Puilong and Thana. The Tangkhul Naga villages sharing international boundary with Myanmar.

Purpose Of The Visit:

In a meeting with Z Choro villagers, the president stated that the Tangkhul Naga Long is concerned about peace in the border area and implementation of the Act East Policy for development.

Memorandum From The Villagers

The Z Choro village authority submitted a memorandum to the honourable Union Minister of Home Affairs, through the president, for correction of Z Choro village traditional boundary, an area of 3.7 sq. km. encroached from the Myanmar side—which is crucial for opening Integrated Check Post and development of trade centre in the border area.

The villagers also reiterated its vision and work to promote mission, education, cultural and economic relation across border; and, therefore, requested the president to extend his esteemed attention for the said concerns in Z Choro and the border area.

The TNL President remarked: “mirin li ringpha meikap kachi shongza akha na,” [one of the most beautiful journeys in life] and said the the voice and work of the people is the powerhouse of peace and development and the gateway to a brighter tomorrow.
