The Poumai Naga Tsiidoumai Me, Chilivai (PNTMC) has strongly condemned the transfer order of Tholu Rocky, SP, Kamjong, issued in the name of Governor of Manipur on 18th October 2026, allegedly in connection with false and baseless information circulated on social media.
PNTMC has urged the Hon’ble Governor of Manipur and the State Government to ensure that the matter is examined objectively and that the principles of natural justice are upheld. The authority of the government must not be compromised by unverified information circulating on social media, nor should the dignity of any officer be sacrificed without a fair and transparent process.
The statement reads, “the Office of the Poumai Naga Tsiidoumai Me, Chilivai (PNTMC), expresses its strongest condemnation and serious concern over the transfer order of Shri Tholu Rocky, Superintendent of Police (SP), Kamjong, reportedly issued by the Governor of Manipur on 18th October 2026, allegedly in connection with false and baseless information circulated on social media.
“The Office of PNTMC maintains that the information in question is false, baseless, and unverified. If the transfer order was indeed influenced by such unsubstantiated social media reports, it raises serious concerns regarding the fairness, transparency, and due process expected from the highest offices of the State Government. No responsible authority should act upon unverified allegations without conducting a thorough and impartial investigation.
“PNTMC strongly condemns the irresponsible dissemination of false information intended to tarnish the reputation, dignity, and professional integrity of a senior police officer. The malicious use of social media to damage the image of an individual holding a responsible public position is unacceptable and must not be allowed to go unchecked. Such conduct not only undermines the dignity of the officer concerned but also raises serious questions about accountability and the responsible use of social media.
“Furthermore, the Office of PNTMC seeks clarification from the concerned authorities as to why such an order was issued with apparent urgency, if it was based on the alleged social media reports, without first establishing the authenticity of the information through proper verification. The reputation and career of a senior officer must never be jeopardised by unsubstantiated allegations or by information circulated by individuals acting out of personal hostility or ill will.”
The Office of PNTMC therefore places the following demands before the State Government:
1. A thorough and impartial investigation into the origin, authenticity, and circulation of the alleged false information concerning Shri Tholu Rocky, SP, Kamjong.
2. Identification of the individual or individuals responsible for disseminating the false and unverified information, followed by strict legal action in accordance with the law, if wrongdoing is established.
3. A transparent review of the circumstances surrounding the transfer order, including whether the decision was influenced by unverified social media reports and whether the prescribed administrative procedures were duly followed.
4. An assurance of fairness and due process in all administrative decisions concerning officers, ensuring that no individual is unfairly targeted, discriminated against, or subjected to prejudicial treatment on the basis of unverified allegations.
5. Responsible and accountable governance, in which decisions affecting the careers, reputations, and dignity of public servants are based on verified facts, established procedures, and objective considerations rather than rumours, personal animosity, or unsubstantiated media reports.
“The Office of PNTMC firmly maintains that administrative authority must be exercised with fairness, responsibility, and adherence to due process. There must be no room for arbitrary decisions, selective treatment, or any practice that undermines the dignity and professional standing of our officers. Every officer deserves a fair hearing, and every allegation must be examined impartially before any conclusion is reached.
“We further urge the Hon’ble Governor of Manipur and the State Government to ensure that the matter is examined objectively and that the principles of natural justice are upheld. The authority of the government must not be compromised by unverified information circulating on social media, nor should the dignity of any officer be sacrificed without a fair and transparent process.
“The Office of PNTMC will not remain silent when the dignity, reputation, and professional integrity of an officer from our community appear to be at stake. We stand firmly for justice, fairness, accountability, and the protection of the rights and dignity of every individual. We call upon the concerned authorities to address this matter with the seriousness it deserves and to ensure that appropriate action is taken based on verified facts and the rule of law.
“Issued in the interest of justice, administrative accountability, and the dignity of our officer” added the statement issued by.the Poumai Naga Tsiidoumai Me, Chilivai (PNTMC).
