Continuing his commitment to community welfare, MLA of 45-Chingai Assembly Constituency and former Transport and V&AH Minister, Khashim Vashum sponsored a free medical health camp on Tuesday at Sirarakhong village under LM Block, Ukhrul District.
In collaboration with the Directorate of AYUSH, Government of Manipur, and organised by NGO Weaker Community’s Action For Development (WCAD), the camp drew a significant turnout, particularly among underprivileged senior citizens from the local community.
Medical team led by AYUSH Medical Superintendent Dr. Pamlei Khayi provided essential healthcare services to around 500 attendees. Services provided during the camp included free consultations, medications, blood pressure monitoring, and blood sugar testing.
WCAD President Ngamreiwung Horam informed that over 450 individuals were enrolled under the PMJAY health insurance during the camp.
Meanwhile, Wungnaokan Woleng, Chairman of the Sirarakhong Village Development Committee, expressed profound gratitude to MLA Khashim Vashum for sponsoring the much-needed medical health camp. He also thanked WCAD, the doctors, nurses, and all volunteers for their selfless contributions. “This initiative has made a significant difference in the health and well-being of our villagers,” he stated.
The medical health camp followed a similar medical camp at Teinem village on August 30, sponsored by MLA Khashim Vashum, providing free consultations, medicines, and crucial health insurance coverage to more than 200 local villagers, who often face challenges in accessing medical facilities.
