Hungyo Worshang: New Chairperson of Manipur State Commission for Scheduled Tribes

Hungyo Worshang (IAS) is the new Chairperson of Manipur State Commission for Scheduled Tribes (MSCST).

The order reads, “in pursuance of Section 3(2)(a) of the Manipur State Commission for the Scheduled Tribes Act, 2014, the Governor of Manipur is pleased to nominate Hungyo Worshang (IAS), as Chairperson of the Manipur State Commission for Scheduled Tribes (MSCST) in addition to his present charge.” Presently he is the Secretary of Tourism, Manipur.

Hungyo Worshang is a native of Ningchou village, Kamjong District, Manipur. He is the son of Vareiso Hungyo, a retired Headmaster of Government High School. A 2011 batch of IAS, he has been at director level IAS for about 2 years. Previously held the charge of Tribal Affairs and Hills as Director and has also served as DC of Tamenglong and Kamjong.

Hungyo Worshang is a Physics Honours Graduate from Hansraj College, Delhi University, a batch of 2004. He did his Masters in Public Administration from IGNOU.

Hungyo Worshang did his matriculation from NAIMS English School, Langol in 1999 and Class XII (Science) from Manipur Public School in 2011.
