GPRN: ZUF Attacked Motive Was To Disrupt Commemoration of 94th Haipou Jadonang Anniversary

The Office of the Director Publicity and Information Bureau, General Headquarters, Naga Army on Friday issued a clarification stating that the motive of the attack by ZUF at one of the GPRN Command Outpost at Taodaijang Longpa Village, was nothing but just to disrupt the observation of 94th Death Anniversary of Haipou Jadonang at Puiluanh (Kambiron) village.

The clarification issued by Brigadier Hetoshe – MSM, Director, PIB/ Naga Army stated that “this is to clarify that one of our command outposts at Taodaijang Longpa village, which is under Jadonang Brigade came under sudden attack from ZUF cadres on 27 August 2025. The assailants apparently fired from distance and fled; no casualties inflicted. As indicated by their press statement the very next day, the motive of the attack was to disrupt the 94th Death Anniversary of Haipou Jadonang which has been successfully observed in a solemn manner today at Puiluan village, with our Collective Leadership Member Ino Salem Yang Gangmei as the Chief Guest.”

“Haipou Jadonang Malangmei was the foremost among Naga leaders from Manipur during the British era. His indomitable spirit and courage is admired and cherished by all freedom lovers. It is fitting and proper to honor such a noble soul. Ironically, the sectarian outlook of the ZUF to reduce Jadonang to a local goon is outrageous and unacceptable. Jadonang fought against the mighty British-India and died a martyr of freedom. Contrarily, the ZUF exists and works solely for their own glory, under the protection of Indian security forces. And yet, they shamelessly deem themselves as followers of Haipou Jadonang. What a fallacy!” added the statement.
