The ongoing blockade along National Highway 202 (Imphal -Ukhrul Road) has been called off after an understanding was brought during a joint meeting with NH202 Development Committee, Deputy Commissioner and Manager (PMU Ukhrul) NHIDCL.
The press release issued by AS Edmund Hungshi, Secretary of NH202 Development Committee stated that, “the Committee had a meeting with Deputy Commissioner of Ukhrul and Manager (PMU/UKL) NHIDCL at the DC Chamber on 9 March 2026, and have come to an understanding and the Committee has agreed to called off the ongoing blockade with immediate effect from 04:00 PM of Monday”.
Some of the key understandings and resolutions taken during the joint meeting are:
1. 3G for Package – III, National Highway 202 has been approved by the NHIDCL Headquarters.
2. Maintenance and strengthening of roads under Package-III along National Highway 202 will be completed within one month.
3. The quality for the road maintenance and strengthening of the road (Package III) will be strictly monitored by the NH202 Development Committee.
4. Process for the Detail Project Report (DPR) for Package -IV of National Highway 202 is being taken up with active initiative from MP (Outer) and the DPR will be submitted to the concerned authority at the earliest.
5. With the understanding, the ongoing blockade along National Highway 202 has been called off with immediate effect from 04:00 PM of Monday.
