The Wung Tangkhul Region is all set to commemorate the “Framework Agreement Day” on 3 August 2025, at Ukhrul Headquarters Ground. The commemoration will also demand for the fulfillment of the Framework Agreement at the earliest.

Organised by Tangkhul Naga People Based Organisation(s), the event will marked the 10 years of signing of the historic “Framework Agreement” on 3 August 2015 between the Government of India and National Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN-IM) at Delhi.

The Government’s interlocutor for Naga Peace Talks, R. N. Ravi signed it on behalf of the Government of India and Chairman Isak Chishi Swu and General Secretary, Thuingaleng Muivah, signed on behalf of the NSCN, in the presence of the Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.

“On this Framework Agreement Day, let us rise not just in remembrance but in resolve. The time has come for every Naga-young and old, in the hills and the plains, across borders-to lend their voice to peace with dignity. Let us demand the fulfillment of the Framework Agreement and walk together toward a shared destiny” stated one of the organisors.

“Our silence will delay our future, but our united voice will shape it. It is a clarion call to all the Nagas, the time to wait is over. The time to rise is now. Let every village, every youth, every elder remember—the Framework Agreement is not just a document. It is the voice of our history, the promise of our future. No longer shall we remain silent while our rights hang in limbo. Enough of the delays. Let the world hear that the Naga people demand the final and honourable solution we were promised.”

The organisors invite the Tangkhul community to come and join the commemoration.
