NWU Condemns the Groundless Accusation and Demand for the Removal of Hon'ble Deputy Chief Minister Losii Dikho

The Naga Women’s Union (NWU) expresses its strong unhappiness to the demand for the immediate removal of Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister Losii Dikho issued by the Committee on Tribal Unity (CoTU) on 1 November, 2026 for the deaths of two Kuki boys.

The statement of NWU reads, “we consider this demand irrelevant and unjustified with the incident. Holding the Deputy CM for the removal without establishing the fact is an offence. This is a scandal to defame him in the discharge of his constitutional and administrative responsibilities is not fair and reasonable.

“The CoTU’s false allegations and misleading statements, which have placed him in an unjustified position of challenge, must be thoroughly investigated by the authorities at the highest level.

“For, He is a man of integrity who consistently advocates for peace among different communities, both in his individual capacity and through his political platform. His efforts and role should be assessed fairly, without unnecessary political comparison with his counterpart, Shrimati Nemcha Kipgen, a spouse of the Armed Militant group’s President.

“It is not fair to undermine his dignity, reputation or political standing through demands that lack a clear and justifiable basis on the political pressure or allegations without substantiated grounds. For, such accusations in the fragile situation may not be conducive to bringing the situation under control.

“The Naga Women’s Union, therefore firmly rejects the demand for the removal of Shri Losii Dikho from his constitutional position. We urge the CoTU to exercise responsibility and refrain from making politically motivated misplaced demands that unnecessarily target the Political leader” added the statement issued by the Information and Publicity Cell Naga Women’s Union (NWU).
