JTCM To Restrict The Movement Of Goods-laden Trucks/Vehicles In Zeliangronginpui Areas

The Working Committee, Joint Tribes’ Council Manipur (JTCM) on 20 August 2026 has declared restriction with immediate effect on movement of goods-laden vehicles/trucks on National Highways passing through JTCM (Inpui, Liangmai, Rongmei, and Zeme Naga) territories until further notice.

The statement issued by Working Committee of JTCM stated that “this action is a direct response to the government’s complete disregard to peaceful protesters, causing severe injuries to many, on 20th Aug 2026 at Namdilong, Kangpokpi District and the brutal abduction, torture, and mutilation of six Naga sons including two pastors abducted on May 13, 2026, from Leilon Vaiphei village. Their mutilated, beheaded bodies were recovered on June 10, 2026, following an intensive search. One victim was found with his hands tied behind his back. Despite the case being handed over to the NIA, the agency failed to establish the fact to identify the culprits despite the prolonged investigation. The manipulated process, possibly influenced by some people in authority in collusion with the Kuki cannibals has delayed justice beyond tolerance. The perpetrators continued to roam freely, in wilful indulgences, promoting terrors among the innocent Naga villagers in different part of the ZeliangrongInpui region in the state.

“What is most confusing, is the irony of the states’ security agencies approach in dealing with the law and order situation in the state. The CoBRA unit of the CRPF, engaging in selective operation in the state seems to be very conscious in destabilising the formation of the Naga Village Guard, securing the village territories with license gun and had launched an illegal raid on NVG, based on unverified intelligence reports, killing village volunteers, while the agency deliberately failed to check or possibly allowed the Kuki Narco-terrorist raiding Naga villages with sophisticated weapons.

“We call upon all area coordination committees to observe this action peacefully and stand in solidarity. The Working Committee, JTCM, has every right to intensify agitation if the government continues to disregard the safety, security, and dignity of our Naga community.

“Justice is non-negotiable. We will never back down” added the statement issued by the Media & Publicity, Working Committee, Joint Tribes’ Council Manipur.
