The Eastern Command – Naga Village Guard (NVG) on Monday condemned the brazen act of Kuki SoO cadres and the biased activities of Indian Security Forces
The press statement issued by the Media Cell, Eastern Command – Naga Village Guard stated that “the Naga Village Guard (NVG) condemns the audacity of the barbaric Kuki SoO cadres and Kuki Narco terrorists who brazenly dug bunkers in our own land and fired upon our NVG volunteers for the second time today in less than a week.
“Today morning, on the 4th of May 2026 at around 5:00 am, the Naga Village Guard volunteers were fired upon by the Kuki SoO cadres and Kuki Narco terrorists in the Ringui Horei Hills. The Naga Village Guard is appalled by the blatant disregard for land owners and had the shameless nerve to encamped at Horei Hills, under the jurisdiction of the Ringui Village.
“Our concerns raised against the biased treatment by the Indian Security Forces have fallen on deaf ears. Right after the ‘illegal’ combing operation carried out by the Security Forces at Horei Hills on 30th of April 2026, how did these Kuki SoO cadres and Kuki Narco terrorists position themselves at the very place we, the rightful land owners, were asked to vacate? The modus operandi of the Indian Security Forces is thus laid bare even through this very fact today. By dismantling the civil shelters of the NVGs, the Security Forces left us exposed to this barbaric attack from the Kuki SoO cadres and Kuki Narco terrorists today. It is alarming how this has become a pattern. This is betrayal of trust in the strongest sense by the Indian Security Forces who were meant to protect Civilians and not otherwise.
“Furthermore, we are aghast by the indifference of the Security Forces who allowed extortions by the Kuki Militants of vehicles passing through NH-202 at Shangkai. In spite of the travel under the escorts given by the Security Forces, the Kuki Militants brazenly threatened and extorted money from travellers as Security Forces turned a blind eye to this act.
“The Naga Village Guard questions the sincerity of the Indian Security Forces at this juncture. If they are in no position to provide safety against the barbaric Kuki Militants, then what are they doing stationed there? Such extortion must stop at all cost, or the NVG would be forced to take the matters into our own hands.
“We have had enough from the Kukis terrorising the civilians, we have had enough of the Security Forces implying their collusion with this barbaric group. If the state and central government is sincere in bringing peace to our land, they must immediately revoke the Kuki SoO agreement of these Kuki groups as they have violated every ground rules. Until such time, the NVG stands firm to protect our land at any cost” added the statement issued by the Media Cell, Eastern Command -Naga Village Guard.
