The Grants under Article 275(1) of the Constitution of India of the Ministry for the year 2025-26 and 2026-27 for the State of Manipur amounting to Rs.1785 Lakh have been approved by the PAC, Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India.
Out of 10 numbers for construction of Multipurpose cum Community Hall in the hill areas of Manipur, Kangpokpi District got all the shares. In the Construction of 5 numbers of Pedestrian Suspension Bridge in the hill areas of Manipur, Kangpokpi (1), Chandel (1), Ukhrul (1) and Senapati (2) share the project. Construction of 1 number of Inter village road in the hill areas of Manipur was also allotted to Kangpokpi District. The rest of the District were allotted with the Livelihood project.
On being questioned about the disparity in distribution of developmental works, CM Yumnam Khemchand Singh informed media persons at Shirui that he had no Knowledge but would look into the matter.
The Government of India, Ministry of Tribal Affairs (Grants Division), the Project Appraisal Committee (PAC) held a meeting on 30 March 2026 at Conference Room, Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Kartavya Bhawan 1, New Delhi, to consider the proposals of Government of Uttar Pradesh and Manipur in respect of Grants under Article 275(1) of the Constitution of India of the Ministry for the year 2025-26.
Accordingly, prioritised proposals approved by PAC for the state of Manipur (Amount Sought for 2025-26 and 2026-2027) was Rs. 1785 Lakh.
1. Construction of 10 numbers Multipurpose cum Community Hall in the hill areas of Manipur @Rs.450 Lakh
2. Construction of 5 numbers of Pedestrian Suspension Bridge in the hill areas of Manipur @Rs.220 Lakh
3. Construction of 1 number of Inter village road in the hill area of Manipur @Rs. 45 Lakh
4. Livelihood for 99 numbers @Rs.1070 Lakh
The Activity is proposed for funding the Grants under Article 275 (1) of the Constitution by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Govt. of India.

3. Construction of Suspension bridge at Teifiki river (Dzukou river) at Bendramai at Senapati District
4. Repairing and re-strengthening of existing suspension bridge over Duta Lok, Duthang at Chandel District
5. Construction of suspension bridge at Mazat Stream, Maram Khunou at Senapati District
