The Tangkhul community on Wednesday paid their last and rich tribute to the four Naga Army who were brutally killed at Hongbei on 28 March 2026.

Hundreds of people from all walks of life attended the condolence service programme held at Ukhrul Headquarters Ground in honour of four fallen Naga Army personnel, Major (Posthumous) Sochipem Phungshok, Sergeant Major (Posthumous) Zairay Vasah, Sergeant (Posthumous) Bahnle Ahlahpya, and Sergeant (Posthumous) Thansomi Vashi.

“May this incident and the sacrifice of the four comrades bring Tangkhul Naga closer in particular and Naga as a whole in general” stated Ningrin Phungshok, brother of slain Maj Sochipem Phungshok. He appealed for unity and understanding among the Naga brethren.

Many have come out and condemned the heinous act and expressed great shock and pain on the death of four Naga Army Officers killed by fellow comrades in arms at Hongbei on 28 March 2026.
