Tangkhul CSOs have given 12 hours ultimatum to produce Mr. Athot of Sihai Khunou and Mr. Star of Lairam Khullen and to hand over the two cadres of NSCN to Tangkhul Naga Long within the given stipulated time.

The ultimatum also stated that failure to produce the mentioned two people at the given time, the Tangkhul community would no longer extend cooperation to Wung Tangkhul Region.

Tension escalated in Ukhrul on Sunday after an irate mob set fire to the office of Wung Tangkhul Region, NSCN at Ukhrul Headquarters, following the killing of four cadres belonging to the NSCN (Eastern Flank) at Hongbei, Kamjong District on 28 March 2026.

The four deceased have been identified as Major (Posthumous) Sochipem Phungshok, Sergeant Major (Posthumous) Zairay Vasah, Sergeant (Posthumous) Bahnle Ahlahpya and Sergeant (Posthumous) Thansomi Vashi.

The Tangkhul CSOs have vehemently condemned the incident and have urged the NSCN/GPRN to take prompt necessary action and made it known to the public.
