Th. Muivah, Ato Kilonser, Chief Political Negotiator, NSCN/GPRN on Tuesday re-appointed Gen. Retd. Anthony Ningkhan Shimray, MC, VC, Member, Collective Leadership, as the Coordinator of Indo-Naga Peace Talk.
The order reads, “in consultation with the Collective Leadership and in exercise of the power conferred upon me as the Chief Political Negotiator of the NSCN/GPRN, I am pleased to order the continuation of the service of Gen. Retd. Anthony Ningkhan Shimray, MC, VC, Member, Collective Leadership, as the Coordinator, Indo-Naga Peace Talk, NSCN/GPRN, with immediate effect and until further order.”
“All are requested to extend maximum cooperation in his assignment. I wish him the best” stated the order signed by Th. Muivah, Ato Kilonser, Chief Political Negotiator, NSCN/GPRN.
As a Co-ordinator of Indo-Naga Peace Talk, General (Retd) Ningkhan Shimray has been working persistently for bringing an honourable solution to the long protracted Indo-Naga peace process.
General (Retd) Anthony Ningkhan Shimray served as an Alee Commander for 17 years and was instrumental in setting up foreign bases in different parts of the country.
Anthony Ningkhan Shimray was appointed as the Longvibu on 2017 and on March, 21, 2020 promoted to general rank, the first person getting promoted to general rank after the formation of NSCN/GPRN, a recipient of Military Cross, the highest award in Naga Army. Ningkhan Shimray hands over the baton to Lt. General Honreishang Shadang– the new Longvibu of Naga Army on 29 Nobember 2025.
