WTR Express Gratitude For Making The Homecoming of Ato Kilonser A Success

The Wung Tangkhul Region (WTR) has expressed utmost gratitude to various CSOs, churches, institutions and authority for making the historic homecoming of Ato Kilonser at Ukhrul Headquarters Ground on 22 October a success.

The press release issued by WTR Secretary stated that, “I, on behalf of Wung Tangkhul Region want to express our heartfelt gratitude for making the historic and nostalgic home coming of our most honourable Ato Kilonser, the Chief Negotiator, Th. Muivah after a gap of 61 years and a grand success at Ukhrul Headquarters on 22nd October 2025.”

“Our gratitude extends to the following Civil Societies/Organisations: Co-ordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) led by its Convenor Khuraijam Athouba, Federation of Civil Societies, Manipur (FOCS); All Manipur Meitei-Pangal Association (AMMPA); NPMHR led by its Secretary General Neingolou Krome; Naga Students’ Federation; United Naga Council; All Maniupur Muslim Cordination Committee (AMMOCCO) led by Shri. Jalal; Naga Village Headman Association Manipur; Eastern Kuki Chief Association (EKCA); All Chairman of Tangkhul villages; All Naga Students’ Association Manipur; Naga Women’s Union, Manipur; Naga leaders including our hon’ble MLAs from different corners of Nagalim and all individuals from Chandel, Tamenglong and from four corners of Tangkhul Naga territory.

“Gratitude to the main part takers in the historic home coming reception program are: Guru A.S. Rawung, for blowing traditional trumpet while welcoming our leader home, Pams’ Kindergarten, Galilee Choir, Wungramso Team, Ngainga Katamnao Long and UBC&UTBC choir for which the reception program could not be made complete.

“WTR wants to say thank to Qr. Wungnaoshang A. Shimray, Ql. Ningreichon R. Shimray, Rev. Fr. TS. Dominic, Parish Priest, Assumption Parish Awangkhul, Qr. Enoch Ningshen, Director, Eastern Circle, SDA, and all ordained ministers and Pastors for sparing your invaluable time and made our reception program successful.

“A special thank to School Students for your warm and lovely welcome to our great leader by giving your precious time and gave a teary flag waving welcome. It will be a crime if we do not mention name of Phungcham and Tusom Cultural troupes for your traditional welcome to our beloved Aväkharar.

“One of the most graceful welcome given to our great leader was by all Tangkhul headman along with their wives in a traditional way dignifing Naga Age old culture and tradition which was insignificant.

“Gratitude to all NSCN authorities for escorting our most hon’ble Ato Kilonser to Ukhrul and to Somdal, his native birth place.

“The service that had been rendered by our Naga Army personnel, WTR Policing Cell and many national workers could make our homecoming reception program a peaceful and success. Thank you all.

“Lastly but not the least, we extend our gratitude to the Centre Organising Committee and Sub-Organising Committee which includes TNL, TNAL, TSL, TKS, TMNL, HKL, THYSO, Ukhrul District Taxi Welfare Association (UDTWA), Fire Brigade and Medical Department, Ukhrul, Tangkhul Leishak Long (TLL), Hindu Samas, Gorgkha Samas, Muslim Samas, Hunphun and Hungpung villages and all the silent prayer groups including the Media Fraternity for the wonderful and peaceful conclusion of the historic and a very nostalgic homecoming reception program to our beloved Ato Kilonser, Th. Muivah. All achievements are due to your tireless efforts.

“The home coming of Th. Muivah, the Chief Negotiator is not just a visitation to his birth place but an emotional home coming which is a spiritual and political symbolism that is now a history forever. Appreciation and thanks are extended to the multitudes who are Nagas and to all the friendly community around us who come and extend their love and support on the heroic homecoming of the Southeast Asia Political legendary who gave all his life for the Right to Self Determination.

“Above all, we thank the Almighty God for ensuring the prayer of the Nagas” added the release of Wung Tangkhul Region.
